7: notify patient if insurance is out of net work- let them know they will be treated as self pay and will be expected to pay in full at check in
8: when booking an appt make sure information is accurate by hitting IE button
9: Make sure insurance and demographics are up to date
*Time of service collections – at check in, collect co-pay and attempt to collect any patient balances.
*Enters authorization information on referrals/ dates, #visits, assigned and left open
*Confirm insurances and adding correct insurance with payer id such CVCP, HMO, PPO
*May travel to cover other offices
*Pages providers for hospital consults
*Check voicemail and return calls in a timely manner
*Each day prints out EBO reports
*You must notify your team when steeping away from your desk for coverage
*Someone must always remain in front staff area during working hours
*Review schedules to make sure insurance has been verified
*All charts must be scanned the day prior to prevent delays
*Each patients medication list must be printed prior to triage
*Must collect for selfpay, deductible patients at the time of check in before triaging
*Print out appointment reminders at checkout /notify is referral is required for follow up
*Address email/tasks/faxes daily
*Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
*Provide exceptional customer service to every patient
*Performs related work as required
Medical Records
*File records in appropriate section of patient chart, keep charts in proper order
*Pulls charts as needed for review
*Photocopies records when requested with proper approval
*Review and prep chart for appointments
*Enters information
*Scans materials or copies records and examines materials
*Download dictation and transfers into patient chart
*Respond to physicians clinical and business office request
*Answer phones and take messages off voicemail
*Address email/tasks/faxes daily
