Title: Repair Technician
Location: Fine Sounds Americas, Maple Grove, MN (Onsite)
Reports to: Product Support Manager
Position Overview:
The Repair Technician is at the heart of our Product Support team, responsible for evaluating, testing and repairing luxury Home Audio Equipment from dealers and end-users. This role is critical in maintaining our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction for our brands.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Handling and Repair:
- Evaluate, diagnose, debug, troubleshoot, repair, scrap, repurpose, sort and stage, unbox and re-box, and provide updates on all Service Repair tickets for Sumiko PC, Pro-Ject, ROTEL, Sonus faber and future brands.
- Triage, sort, stage, prepare, unbox and re-box incoming products.
- Utilize test equipment (ie, oscilloscopes, multi-meters) for component-level troubleshooting, diagnose and repair high-end Home Audio Equipment to Fine Sounds quality standards and the standards of our brands.
- Maintain shop equipment and an organized workspace, Service Repair staging area and Theater Room.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Product Support Manager to optimize workflow and efficiency by developing process and troubleshooting documentation.
- collaborate with other departments on Parts Planning, Product Quality Control and Technical Assistance.
- Professionally communicate with clients and business partners via phone, email, and in person to provide technical consultation and solve QC issues.
- Provide technical assistance to Authorized Service Centers and dealers.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing high-end Audio Equipment (turntables, CD players, speakers, amplifiers, digital-to-analog converters), and the ability to set up and operate all devices.
- Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multi-meters, distortion analyzers, and other test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, components specification sheets and service manuals.
- Skilled in hand-soldering through-whole and surface-mount components, with and without magnification.
- Hands-on experience with home networking equipment, computers, smartphones and high-end Home Audio Equipment.
- Knowledge of ESD Best Practices
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Education:
- Associates degree or certification in Electronic Technology preferred.
- Certification in J-STD preferred.
Work Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm (with flexibility)

Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
