The masters level Child/Adolescent behavioral health therapist is a clinician who is responsible for counseling patients between the ages of 3 to 20 age dealing with a variety of mental health issues and illnesses. Previous experience working with children and adolescents a plus with certifications in trauma, play therapy, music therapy, and/or movement therapy a plus. Clinicians without certified trainings will be considered.
The hired individual will be receiving a 1099 and is paid fee for service, non-benefitted
May work in office, schools, community and /or telehealth options available. This is not a fully online position.
The child/adolescent therapist will provide treatment through counseling and other techniques that will help patients cope with their mental health issues.
Qualities looking for in employee: ability to engage with youth on their level, compassionate health professional with empathy and strong listening and communication skills.
Qualifications include a master’s degree from an accredited university in counseling, social work, psychology or a related field, along with a state-issued license. Bilingual and 3-5 years previous experience a plus.
Specifications: The hired child/adolescent therapist will preferably have a LICSW or LMHC, but willing to consider candidates who are working towards independent licensure. The therapist would be responsible for managing their caseload and scheduling appointments with clients being the point person for the case. The employee will provide initial assessments to each new client individual, couple or group format. Provide crisis counseling/intervention if needed. Assist with outside referrals as needed. Facilitate groups as needed. Portray a positive and empowering personality to ensure professional relationship development and high comfort level for clients to approach mental health counselor when needed. Develop positive therapeutic relationships with client and family. Follow through to complete all assignments in a timely and thorough manner. Continued knowledge and awareness of potential external resources for referral. Attend and participate in supervision as scheduled weekly. Create treatment plans, safety plans, quarterly insurance requirements, and keep track of authorizations for units and sessions. Participate in trainings provided to staff, needed. Increase knowledge base of best practices. Manage data collection, client paperwork, and reporting as needed.
