Green Oaks Education and Support, a private Christian school and adult education program for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, is looking to hire part time assistants for residential support in our college program (Green Oaks Life Prep).
Experience in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is beneficial.
The positions involve providing support in non-classroom learning settings. This is NOT a caretaker position.
These positions will start in August, 2024.

Duties:
Residential Life Support Staff for Life Prep: Responsible for providing assistance and teaching students while on Green Oaks Apartment campus, supervising during dorm/campus activities, supporting students in all areas of responsibility as directed, helping students learn general housekeeping and kitchen tasks, keeping detailed records for students accessing Medicaid waiver funds, ensuring that notes are complete and correct, etc.
Mornings/nights/weekends. Most working hours will be at the apartments on the Green Oaks campus or out in the community.
All staff must meet school driver requirements, including having personal automobile insurance, a current driver’s license and a good driving record.
Benefits:
30 hours per week is considered full time for benefits.

Green Oaks School
Green Oaks School is a Christian-based school for individuals with intellectual disabilities, elementary ages through adults, who do not have serious medical involvement or significant behavior challenges.
The primary focus of our school is to teach at the level of ability and interest of our students. We offer math, reading, writing and basic social studies. In addition, the students receive instruction in art, music, computer skills and physical education. Our students are afforded the opportunity to develop lifelong friendships and often make great social gains in addition to academic growth.
Green Oaks School follows an August to May academic calendar.
Green Oaks Adult Learning
Green Oaks Adult Learning, GOAL, is a unique Christian educational program designed for adults with intellectual disabilities who have completed their secondary education plan. They, along with their families, desire participation in a program with a continuing emphasis on academics, social skills, vocational training, and additional life skills.
The primary objective of the GOAL program is to provide an atmosphere of acceptance and appreciation for the gifts of the individual in a place where opportunities for continued growth and development are available. In addition, GOAL offers adults with intellectual disabilities a place for social interaction with their peers.
The GOAL program is year round.
Green Oaks Life Prep
Green Oaks Life Prep is a Christian higher education program for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Students will be provided the opportunity to develop personalized, increased independence living in an apartment; receive specific vocational training leading to employment; grow in their faith as they deepen their relationship with Christ; and become contributing members of an inclusive community.
Students live in the apartments on the campus of Green Oaks School.
Study areas include Horticulture and Culinary Arts/Hospitality.
Life Prep follows an August to May academic calendar.
