St. Genevieve School, located in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood of Chicago, offers an exemplary Catholic education to all of our students, from preschool through eighth grade. Mathematics Teacher
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a full-time, Mathematics Teacher for 6th-8th Grades.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or other related field; or a minimum of three years of experience in teaching mathematics; or an associate degree in Mathematics with a teaching certificate; or an associate degree in Mathematics and a combination of two years of experience and one year of teaching experience; or an associate degree in Mathematics and two years of experience and one year of teaching experience.
- Must possess effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Must be able to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Must be able to work effectively with a team.
- Must be able to work effectively with technology.
- Must be eligible to work in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach mathematics using a variety of instructional methods (e.g., lecture, problem-solving, technology) that meet the needs of the student population.
- Maintain the mathematics curriculum (including developing new courses as needed).
- Develop lesson plans for classes based on state standards.
- Attend professional development workshops and trainings as assigned by the department head.
- May also assist with other duties assigned by the department head.
