The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for making sure that products meet a set of standards. Inspector will be auditing steel that has ran through our process of Galvanization. Their duties include examining shipments of completed work, measuring the specifications of random items from each production run and training team members to refine production quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspecting outgoing orders using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards and examining quality

Checking the zinc coating thickness on finished material

Inspecting material for zinc coating quality

Auditing material for customer specific requirements i.e. packaging and coating thickness

Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database

Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence

Operate hand tools when needed to make adjustments to material

Determining the causes of product defects and reworks

This is a “hands on position” working in outdoor conditions
Required Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment

Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience
- Good time management and proven multi-tasking skills

Ability to be self-sufficient and self-motivated
- Demonstrates initiative, sense of urgency and is self-motivated when addressing work tasks

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working near or with moving mechanical parts, wet conditions, hot and cold temperatures, electroplating environment, and outside weather conditions.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility including on uneven terrain. Employee will operate equipment such as overhead cranes, robots, and forklift as well as position self to inspect equipment and ascend/descend to view equipment. Duties also require moving items up to 50lbs.
