The Millwright plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment within our facility. This position requires a high level of mechanical aptitude, precision, and attention to detail to ensure the safe and efficient operation of production processes.
- Install, assemble, and align machinery and equipment according to specifications and blueprints, including conveyor systems, pumps, compressors, turbines, and other industrial machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as inspection, lubrication, and adjustment of mechanical components to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using troubleshooting techniques, testing equipment, and technical manuals to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Disassemble, repair, and replace defective parts or components, such as bearings, gears, shafts, couplings, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems, to restore equipment functionality.
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed using machining tools, welding equipment, and metalworking techniques.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to plan and execute equipment upgrades, modifications, and installations.
- Adhere to safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior millwrights and apprentices as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in millwrighting or a related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a millwright in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and machining equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, including bearings, seals, gears, belts, chains, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Welding and fabrication skills preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
