Purpose Statement
The job of Warehouseman - Child Nutrition is done for the purpose/s of assisting the warehouse supervisor with receiving, storing and delivering of food, non-food and equipment to all district cafeterias.
This job reports to Warehouse Supervisor and Director, Child Nutrition.
Essential Functions-
Stands, stoops, walks, lifts, bends, climbs and reaches as required to perform assigned duties. Heavy lifting, unloading and loading of trucks on a daily basis.

Participate in a variety of foodservice distribution functions; drive a District vehicle and deliver food supplies to assigned District sites; load and unload shipments of food items and supplies such as prepared and unprepared foods, hot and cold carts and frozen, canned and dry goods; fill and process daily food service orders; assure proper and timely distribution of food items and supplies.

Perform a variety of duties related to the shipping, receiving, storing and issuing of assigned goods including supplies, equipment and food; assure supplies, equipment, materials and food are delivered in a timely manner; assist with delivering catering orders as assigned.

Shelve and store items received in the appropriate section of the warehouse; place food items in racks, coolers or freezers as required; rotate perishable and nonperishable inventory as needed; assist with maintaining warehouse inventories as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including using a variety of software applications; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percent’s, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working closely with the warehouse supervisor. Delivering all food/supplies/equipment from the food warehouse to school sites. Assist in unloading delivery trucks from distributors. Help assist warehouse supervisor with inventory. Rotates stock on first-in/first-out basis. Keep freezers, refrigerators, and warehouse clean at all times. Responsible for storing and handling food as per health standards. May assist in some kitchen duties during serving time. Assist in department catering activities. Other related tasks as asked by the warehouse supervisor or Director of the Child Nutrition Department.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 40% sitting, 30% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations.
Experience
Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired. Must hold a valid Class IV Arizona Driver’s license. Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others. Good human relations skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer terminals.
