Aerospace Manufacturer in search of a CMM/Layout Inspector.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Perform first-part dimensional inspection, utilizing CMM programs and manual inspection devices
- Ensure product conformity through defined inspection operations using model-based inspection programs, blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing plans as appropriate
- Perform final inspection on machined parts, including temper inspection
- Identify and segregate non-conforming product
- Additional duties may assigned as needed
- Reads blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications for selected parts.
- Sets up the CMM program to measure and/or compare specific sections of parts to ensure tolerances per work order specifications.
- Positions parts on measuring table of equipment, views parts on monitor screen, and turns calibrated cranks on equipment to position control bar, with attached camera, over specified sections of parts.
- Compares recorded measurements to blueprint dimensions and tolerances and notifies specified persons of discrepancies.
- Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly
- Verifies completeness and correctness of Work Order/Travel, FAI
- Verifies machine setups are correct before machining of parts is performed
- Inspects Parts using Faro Arm Mounted Laser Scanner.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES : Prefer a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience reading / understanding / inspecting to design drawings, prints and associate specification requirements
- 4 year Engineering degree, with minimum 2 years’ experience preferred
- Functional understanding of Microsoft Desktop Programs
- Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASME 14.5
- Good knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines/Scanners
- Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Blueprint reading and basic math skills
- Ability to operate CMM and Portable CMM
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
- Attention to detail
- Willingness to learn
Pay Frequency:
Work Remotely

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
