Under the general direction from the Service Manager, The Service Technician will work to service and meet client commitments and work orders. This position requires an electrical, mechanical and /or crane experience.
Responsibilities include:
Facilitates and troubleshoots the problems associated with any mechanical/electrical issues with service projects. Must have excellent knowledge of all company policies and procedures and all safety requirements for the position.
Reads work orders, instructions, formulas and processing charts for the company clients. Must have excellent knowledges of English in order to write, speak and read company documents.
Replaces defective parts of machines or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts, aligns machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks and handtools, squares rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs. Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
Position steel beams to support bedplates of machines and equipment, using blue prints and schematic drawings, to determine work procedures. Signal crane operator to lower basic assembly units to bedplate and align work.
Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts using hand tools and measuring to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts. Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
Bolt parts such as side and deck plates jaw plates and journals to basic journals to basic assembly. Level bedplate and establish center line, using straight, level and transit. Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
Must inspect cranes and provide OSHA related documentation to all crane inspections.
