(5G) is to encourage and support the social, emotional, and academic development of the youth we serve. 5G serves grades K-5 and is beginning its flagship program located at The Cove School in Corte Madera, CA. Position Overview
•Job Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, At-Will
•Schedule: Monday – Friday (on days school is in session) 12:00 – 6:30pm. Hours may vary. Remote work available during school breaks.

•Compensation: $22 - $24 per hour (depending upon experience), Paid Holidays, Sick Leave

•Summary: Reporting to Program Director, the Senior After School Program Coordinator supports 5G members by leading a variety of enrichment activities that support school-day learning, with other duties as assigned. Senior Program Coordinators will play a vital role in reinforcing the school’s culture and expectations through diligent student supervision and by creating a safe learning environment that supports positive peer relationships. This role is responsible for program development, planning and preparation, and will assume the responsibility of "Lead Coordinator" as needed. "Lead Coordinator" provides oversight and guidance to program operation during the absence of the Program Director.
This is a non-exempt, hourly, part-time position (30 hours/week). The ideal candidate is a highly personable, systematic, and extremely organized individual who deeply believes in positive Youth Development and is committed to helping build an after-school program culture where all students reach their highest potential. This position requires 2-3 years experience in an After School Program setting with some managerial experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Instruction
•Coordinate and administer lesson plans for fun, active and skill-based learning activities both indoors and outdoors.
•Supervise and support students with homework assistance.
•Lead students through all program components according to the program schedule including: sign in and out, snack, outdoor recreation, enrichment activities, homework time, group games, special events, etc.
•Ensure that classroom and program spaces are clean, organized and safe.
•Record and maintain daily attendance and other documentation as required in a timely manner.
•Demonstrate knowledge of, and support for, the 5G mission, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and ethical code of behavior.
•Assume the role of "Lead Coordinator" as needed, providing oversight and support of program operation.
•Other duties as assigned.

Miscellaneous
•Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, to support Program Coordinators training and program/activity development.
Skills and Characteristics

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact and forge relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members
•Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
•Demonstrated relentlessness to meet organizational goals
•Self-directed with the ability to work both autonomously and in teams
•Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required
Education and Experience
•High school diploma AND the equivalent and minimum of two years of college (60 semester college units or 90 quarter college units), or
•High school diploma AND the equivalent and A.A. degree (or higher), or
•High school diploma AND the equivalent and proof of passage of the CBEST exam or Instructional Aide Proficiency Exam
•Negative TB Test result
•Clean background (Background check required)
•Consistent availability during program hours
•2-3 years experience working with children in a structured setting (grades K-5)
•Strong classroom management skills and ability to manage large groups of students
•The knowledge and background to lead activities in one or more of the following areas: Sports, Fitness & Recreation, Life Skills, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Film Making and Photography, Arts (painting/drawing, sculpting, crafts, etc.)
•Unwavering belief that all students can achieve at the highest academic levels
•High level of professionalism
