Lucy Corr is seeking an accomplished Director of Nursing to oversee their 216-bed skilled nursing facility. Lucy Corr, a pillar in Chesterfield County for more than 53 years just outside Richmond, offers a Continuum of Care for residents of all ages and stages.
Operated by the Health Center Commission of Chesterfield County, Lucy Corr ensures quality care is always available on-site. Since 1970, Lucy Corr has been an industry leader, offering exceptional health and wellness services to seniors in Central Virginia, from Williamsburg to Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Richmond, and the Tri-cities.

Job Summary:
Lucy Corr is a 34-acre continuing care retirement community that operates a 216-bed skilled nursing facility, 48 assisted living apartments, 77 independent living cottages/apartments and a licensed adult day center. Lucy Corr is an independent, single-site community, not-for-profit, and offers both lease and life care entry contracts. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for coordinating the overall quality of care for all residents of Lucy Corr.
Essential Functions
· Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates nursing staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
· Develops, implements, and enforces nursing policies and procedures.
· Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
· Develops and manages quality assurance programs to maintain and improve the quality of care.
· Provides clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, including addressing clinical issues and concerns.
· Oversees the assessment and evaluation of residents' health needs and the development of individualized care plans.
· Assists in the preparation and management of the nursing department budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
· Develops and implements emergency response plans and procedures.
· Identifies areas for improvement within the nursing department and implements strategies to enhance performance.
· Monitors and ensures the health and safety of residents and staff, including infection control practices.
· Oversees medication administration, management, and compliance with protocols.
· Advocates for the health and well-being of residents, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
· Implements and utilizes healthcare technology to improve nursing practices and resident care.
· Promotes the profession of nursing through participation in Virginia Directors of Nursing Association, Virginia Nursing Home Association and nursing in-services
· Participates in the strategic planning process for the community, contributing to long-term goals and initiatives for resident care.
· Performs additional duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree minimum
· Minimum of ten years’ experience within large (160+ beds) senior living communities, and experience interacting with employees at all levels, and with supervisors and above
