Position Overview: The Clinical Associate is a vital member of our healthcare team, performing a wide range of clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care and departmental efficiency. This role requires a balance of clinical skills, administrative acumen, and a strong commitment to patient service. The Clinical Associate works under the supervision of physicians/providers, assisting in various clinical procedures and ensuring a smooth operational flow within the department.
These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, following the mission, values, and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily patient calls, including pre/post procedure communications, transportation arrangements, and ensuring patient readiness and arrival.
- Manage and update schedules, including the coordination of procedures and transportation logistics.
- Facilitate communication and documentation flow, including faxing schedules, managing cancellations, and maintaining medical records.
- Assist in clinical procedures, including room preparation, patient preparation, and post-procedure care.
- Oversee laboratory operations, including specimen collection, lab orders, and processing.
- Maintain inventory levels of medical supplies and medications, ensuring all items are up-to-date and in compliance with health regulations.
- Provide instructional support to medical and X-ray students, promoting an educational environment.
- Participate in the intervention of radiology procedures, including patient preparation, assistance during procedures, and post-procedure care.
- Support imaging services, including MRI and X-ray, ensuring all equipment is operational and assisting as needed.
- Engage in quality improvement activities and continuing education to enhance professional growth and departmental service delivery.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification by the AAMA, CPR certification, and adherence to confidentiality requirements.
- Experience in an ambulatory setting and with electronic patient information systems is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities in Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese are a plus.
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing workflows.
- Commitment to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
