The MAC Rx team is looking to hire a Customer Service Nurse Consultant to travel to our facility partners on a regular basis in the southern Chicagoland and northwest Indiana area. The primary purpose of the position is to maintain customer satisfaction by providing problem-solving resources by handling face-to face complex inquiries to provide outstanding customer service. Assist facilities in maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies in accordance with all nursing standards of practice.
Duties include:
· Responsible for assistance of transition with new acquisitions
· First point of contact with Administrator, DON and nursing staff to resolve any issues
· Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy and the facility
· Responsible for bi-weekly and as-needed visits
· Upload completed customer service visit forms after each visit
· Training and Replenishment of Emergency Dispensing Kit (EDK) machines as needed
· Responsible for education and training of Policy and Procedures and EDK machine
· Helps with retrieval of prescriptions
· Conduct quality assurance audits (carts and med rooms) prior to survey window and as requested to ensure the facility is compliant with the applicable federal and state requirements as it relates to pharmacy services
· Inform facilities of new pharmacy procedures, processes and forms. Distributes new material as necessary
· Schedules and executes monthly reconciliation of physician orders
· Medication Reconciliation of EHR as needed
· Assist with obtaining clarification of physician order sheets communicated by order entry
· Responsible for Med Pass Observations
· Inservice facility staff to pharmacy issues when necessary
· Inservice nursing staff on various topics including but not limited to general med pass, order transcription, medication storage, etc.
· Perform medication storage inspections
· Analyze and give suggestions or recommendations on proper nursing and administrative methods
· Work closely with consultant pharmacist to identify current trends
· Provides one on one training to staff nurses as appropriate
· Train facility staff on Framework Link
· Point of contact for management companies
Requirements:
· Intimate knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and guidelines
· Extensive knowledge of regulatory agencies for long term care facilities (tags or areas of concerns)
· Problem solver
· Excellent verbal/written communication skills
· Ability to operate office machines which do not require special training other than skills which may be acquired on the job.
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time
· High level of professionalism in judgment
· Excellent time management skills
· Highly organized and motivated
· Extensive knowledge of medications
· Able to travel
· Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse required
