Conflict Panel Attorneys for Juvenile Dependency & Delinquency Court
Dependency Court Conflict Panel Attorneys are court-appointed to represent parties (either a parent, children, or guardian), in cases where the Department of Children & Family Services has filed a petition alleging abuse and/or neglect. Allegations can include issues of substance abuse, untreated mental illness, domestic violence, homelessness, physical and/or sexual abuse.
Delinquency Court Conflict Panel Attorneys are court-appointed to represent minors with allegations of committing a violation a law or statute.
This attorney position affords you the ability to represent clients in court on a daily basis. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other advocates, County Counsel, opposing counsel, District Attorneys and social workers. There is plenty of opportunity to mediate and negotiate as well.
The right candidate will be a self-starter with experience in juvenile dependency and/or delinquency. This is not a meant to be a full-time position, so it will afford the right candidate the option to have their own practice while taking on court-appointed cases.
This is an independent contractor position. Knowledge of JCATS is a plus as well.
