Essential Functions:
- Operate necessary equipment to bale and load waste or other material into trailers.
- Perform inspection and maintenance checks of equipment daily.
- Grease/lubricate equipment, check and add fluids to equipment daily
- Operator will steer, guide and or drive the above listed equipment at the assigned site, if the equipment is used at the particular site(s) using steering wheel, shifters, levers, buttons and pedals.
- Operator will substitute for another operator if someone is absent from the work crew or as needed/required.
- Operator will use a two-way radio to communicate with co-workers in the field and or office regarding work activities, requirements and priorities for the work day.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Assist in the loading of open top trailers with municipal solid waste.
- Need to be able to operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures
- Conducts routine equipment inspections and performs preventative maintenance on equipment; maintains accurate records
- Follows appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining vehicle
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Sorting of materials.
- Ability to maintain your equipment to make it efficient and effective.

- Safe and proper use of assigned equipment and tools

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed outdoors. Operator drives on surface streets and operates equipment on unpaved surfaces.
- Operator occasionally works past normal office hours to complete assignments.
- The Heavy Equipment Operator has a physically strenuous and demanding job. They will be lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment and objects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previously worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for a minimum of 2 years
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Pass hands on maneuvering and loading
- Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation
- Must be able to work M-F (Saturday’s may be required)
- This job starts immediately.
