SUMMARY
The Food Server has the overall responsibility to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when eating at Poolside. The Food Servers are responsible for providing a friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional experience to all of our guests. Work hours/days vary as dictated by business needs, and may include weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable.
- Direct guests to their tables, present menus, suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, and inform guests about food preparation details.
- Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
- Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Prepare tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks.
- Up-sell food & beverage items using suggestive selling techniques.
- Answer questions regarding wine list.
- Prepare mixed drinks for service to the guests at the table.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen.
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen to guests in a timely matter.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change, if applicable.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
- Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as assigned by Manager.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Maintain clean service areas.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Assistant Restaurant Manager/Restaurant Manager.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestion for improvement.
- Serve hotel guests food and beverages to their rooms, in a prompt and professional manner, when needed.
- Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
