Plant Manager - Macaron Production Facility
Location: Clarkesville, Georgia (1.5 hours from Atlanta)
Join leading luxury macaroon wholesale company in Clarkesville, Georgia, as a Plant Manager. The company produces macarons for stores and retailers nationwide, operating from a 51,000-square-foot facility. We produce 8,000 macarons daily, with increased volumes during holiday seasons. You will be leading a dedicated team of around 20 full-time kitchen and plant staff in a scenic mountain area with affordable housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting into the CEO
- Managing team of around 20 ( Admin Manager, Packer Manager/Foreman, HR Manager, Pastry Chef and kitchen team of 14)
- Oversee the overall operation of the manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient and effective production processes
- Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and strategies to meet customer demands
- Manage and optimize the use of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment
- Monitor production performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate production activities and resolve any issues that may arise
- Implement and maintain MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to ensure accurate inventory management
- Provide leadership and guidance to plant staff, fostering a positive work environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar high-volume production role.
- 3 years Food Production Management experience.
- Knowledge of GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) or SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification and quality control process
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field an advantage
- Proven experience in production management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of production processes
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
