The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will design the production processes, machinery and will identify and implement solutions to production problems related to materials, processes, work instructions and tooling.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Creating a standard procedure for writing routers, work instruction, inspection criteria in line with the estimates.
- Design tools and select machines used to manufacture products.
- Reviews production program equipment, hardware, and tooling; makes recommendations for repairs or replacement.
- Development of new processes, methods, drawings, and production controls aligned with the quality plan and AS9100 standards.
- Assist as needed in development of the AS9100 systems.
- Installs new equipment and ensures that it operates correctly; trains others to operate new machinery.
- Prepares operations manuals for new or existing equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; apply this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes.
- Reviews incoming RFQs for compatibility.
- Estimates & prepares quotes for customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
- Extensive knowledge of CAM software and CNC programming is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes like assembly, weld, braze, pressure test, flow test and NDT.
- Thorough understanding of the AS9100 standards.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
- Five years of experience as an aerospace manufacturing engineer required (10+preferred)
