General Job description:
Quality Technician for production testing and approval process.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for personal safety and participating in plant safety process.
- Guarantee that all production runs meet color and quality standards per standard. • Provide final product inspections to ensure defects are identified and correctly labeled.
- Conduct multiple quality control checks for each production run as well as periodic testing for ASTM certifications to include but not limited to, color, thickness, squareness, layer measurement tests, and any other test with samples required.
- Must follow the policy and procedures for the quality management system to insure the accuracy of inspection and re-inspect processes and make suggestions for improvement.
- Assist manufacturing to ensure that all startups and quality changes meet quality standards as defined by the production specifications and quality requirements.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
- Keep quality measurement equipment in good working order.
- Perform periodic final inspection of finished LVT.
- Communicate quality findings to appropriate manufacturing team members.
- Documenting and reporting of daily findings.
- Analyze production testing data and report findings
- All other tasks given by Quality Supervisor
- Ability to train line inspectors
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience with quality systems desired.
- Must pass the color vision test. • Understanding of lean manufacturing and / or six sigma methodologies highly desired.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills. (MS Office, excel, SAP)
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
