Lightwork Therapy and Recovery has expanded our services this spring to include substance use disorder day treatment programming. We pride ourselves in providing compassionate, comprehensive, and individualized treatment services and are excited to bring this much needed service to Woburn.
Join Our Team
The Primary Counselor will be responsible for performing clinical client care in our Substance Use Disorder day treatment program. They will provide individual and group counseling as led by the Clinical Director. Counselors collaborate with the Treatment Team in the formulation of the client’s Master Treatment Plan. Hours are 1pm-9:00pm and include running our evening group treatment program for our amazing (usually working) LightWork clients! We are looking for a Masters Level Clinician with a completed masters degree and/or an active mental health license (LADC, LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, etc.) - at least one of these qualifications is required.

Primary Counselor Requirements:
- Must be able to demonstrate competency in recognizing the unique needs and behavior of clients
- Licensure in a substance use disorder/mental health discipline preferred
- Active LADC, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT license is Preferred. Conditionally Licensed will be considered
Primary Counselor Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of mental health disorders, trauma, and addictions and utilizes knowledge and skills to access and meet the client’s treatment needs and requirements.
- Completes timely and accurate documentation on a daily basis.
- Conducts process groups for clients and other groups as assigned.
- Ability to work as a team member, displaying maturity and objectivity under stress.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills.
- Performs in a professional manner and models positive coping skills.
- Reports abuse of clients’ rights immediately.
- Participates in obtaining the client’s informed consent for procedures, treatments, and release of information, as appropriate.
- Acts decisively and effectively in managing staff and clients during emergency situation.
- Actively participates in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings.
- Shares pertinent information with team as needed.
- Evaluates the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the milieu.
- Performs individual therapy with client/family.
- Documents the assessment of client progress/regress and interventions provided in the medical record.
- Recognizes, responds to, and assists in crisis situations and provides intervention as necessary.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings as scheduled.
- Adheres to policies and procedures.
- Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the program’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider.
- May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties.
- Performs other capacities as needed.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
