Overview:
Working under the supervision of the Welding Supervisor, this position is responsible for the training of new and existing manual welders and continuous improvement of manual welding technology and methods in the welding department.
Responsibilities:
- Develop manual welding processes on weldments.
- Set up machines and/or assist manual welders in machine setup (or process) as necessary.
- Review manual welding work instructions for completeness and accuracy.
- Continually review existing welding methods and technology to assure part compliance, increased productivity, increased quality, and cost reductions.
- Coach and assist manual welders on improved welding methods and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manual welding issues in an efficient and timely manner.
- Remain current on the latest welding technologies.
- Submit Engineering Master change requests to Shop Floor Manager.
- Appropriately train, instruct, and coach manual welders in job duties and safety procedures.
- Working with Welding Supervisor, evaluate manual welding personnel.
- Implement quality improvement programs with the aid of Shop Floor Manager, Quality Control, and Engineering.
- As time allows weld parts per work order specifications.
- Perform the duties of the Welding Supervisor when the Welding Supervisor is absent.
Requirements:
- Must possess strong technical knowledge and manual dexterity.
- Intermediate reading and math skills are required.
- Able to read dial calipers, combination square, tape measure, and blueprints.
- Able to use hand and power tools.
- Able to follow instructions and retain information.
- Knowledge of proper metal fabrication and welding techniques is required.
- Able to set up, program, and operate manual GMAW welders.
- Computer proficient with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Working knowledge of office equipment including phones, computers, copiers, etc.
- Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have clear communication skills and be able to reiterate information as necessary.

Schedule:
Full time. 5:30 AM - 3:45 PM, Monday - Thursday. Overtime may be required.
