As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) you may use a variety of approaches, such as play-based therapy, to help children develop language and communication skills. You may also work with parents and caregivers to provide education and support to help them understand their child's needs and promote their development.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's speech, language, and communication abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each child's unique needs and goals
- Provide direct therapy to children, including one-on-one and group sessions
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support children's progress
- Monitor and track children's progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's assessments and treatment
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current on best practices in the field
Requirements:
- Master's in degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current California state SLP license
- Fluent Spanish
- Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication disorders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must pass a criminal background check (Livescan DOJ & FBI)
- Current TB clearance
- Located near San Luis Obispo
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
