Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide essential support to patients and assist with their daily activities. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients.
Duties:
- Assist patients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Help patients with mobility and transfers, including using assistive devices as needed
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing and perform basic medical procedures
- Administer medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse
- Assist in the implementation of behavioral health interventions for patients with mental health conditions
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Document patient information accurately and maintain medical records
- Assist in the coordination of patient care activities with other healthcare professionals
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical documentation and record keeping
- Knowledge of behavioral health interventions and techniques
- Experience in medication administration and dosage calculations
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks
- Ability to perform tube feeding and gastric lavage procedures
- Experience in memory care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program preferred
- Valid nursing assistant certification in the state of
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Compassionate and empathetic nature
