Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of apartment operations, including leasing, rent collection, maintenance, and tenant relations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective tenants.
- Maintain accurate records and files related to leasing agreements, tenant complaints, and maintenance requests.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure it is well-maintained and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Advertise and market available units to attract new tenants.
- Screen potential tenants, including conducting background checks and verifying income and rental history.
- Enforce lease agreements and handle any lease violations or disputes.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance with contractors and vendors.
- Address tenant concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay updated on local housing laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with tenants from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures related to leasing agreements and eviction processes.
- Ability to negotiate lease terms and rental rates with potential tenants.
- Proficient in conflict management techniques to handle tenant disputes or difficult situations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for creating reports, maintaining records, and managing correspondence.
- Understanding of relevant laws and regulations related to housing, such as fair housing laws and Section 8 guidelines.
