The American Society of Civil Engineers is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Program Administrator supporting staff and volunteer activities for ASCE's Government Engineer Council (GEC), Committee on Professional Advancement (CPA), and their constituent committees.
We are looking for someone who is team-oriented and possesses excellent communication, organizational, and people skills. This role will play a vital part in developing and delivering value to ASCE government engineer members and supporting the professional (non-technical) skills development of civil engineers. ASCE members benefit from an energized community of peers and world-class resources, which this role will continue to build.
Responsibilities include:

Serving as staff contact for several government and public agency volunteer committees and their constituents, subcommittees, and project teams
- Provide technical and administrative support and guidance

Facilitate collaboration and communication with other ASCE entities and staff

Inform and equip to accomplish goals and strategies
-
Help the GEC determine where areas of opportunities exist and provide possible scenarios for change

Administering public agency peer reviews
- Recruit reviewers and track their training and qualifications
-
Prepare proposals and contracts, schedule, coordinate, and administer peer reviews
-
Identifying and promoting volunteer opportunities unique to government engineers
-
Coordinating the activities of CPA and its constituent committees
- Plan the logistics of programs including schedule, correspondence, and virtual/in-person event management.

Coordinate and participate in monthly committee meetings (web and face-to-face)

Update committee rosters, send committee appointment letters, and certificates to outgoing members

Manage the promotion, selection, notification, production, and presentation of awards

Manage multiple email accounts

Maintaining and continually improving the professional practice content on the ASCE website

Assisting in the development of professional practice programs
The ideal candidates will have:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
-
3-5 years corporate or association/non-profit or community organization experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities

Proficiency in using web collaboration, survey, and scheduling tools

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Adeptness at building and maintaining relationships with diverse groups of people

Sound judgment, confidentiality, and discretion
