As our Cabinet, Countertop, and Closet Draftsman, you will be responsible for creating custom shop drawings in AutoCAD & KCD software, converting drawings, or designed projects using CAD Code software for CNC fabrication. We are looking for an associate who is outgoing and excels when working with fellow associates and clients, assuring them that they are receiving the best customer service and product available.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Taking measurements at jobsite locations using our laser templating system or by simply measuring with a tape measure, drawing by hand
· Create CAD drawings based on your field measurements, or the design information provided by the client (architectural drawings, hand sketches, site visits, inspiration images).
· Complete drawings accurately and promptly and executing revisions per client’s request or changes in jobsite conditions.
· Maintain organized filing system of CAD drawings and project data on company's server.
· Keeping approved shop drawings current, organized, and easily accessible
· Work directly with the General Manager and the production / installation teams to resolve any issues in timely manner , build projects as efficiently as possible to avoid any production delays.
· Prepares drawing for sales personnel to use as a basis for generating project quotes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
· Technology Aptitude/Skills: Excellent Microsoft Office skills with design software experience in Microvellum, AutoCAD, CAD Code, KCD or similar platform required.
· Experience: 3+ years of previous experience in cabinet design, architecture, or similar role preferred.
· Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or Technical Certificate a plus; but we are open to considering an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
· Functional Skills: Excellent ability to read a blueprint and measurement down to the 1/32nd of the inch; strong detail-oriented skills with ability to be precise and thorough in work; excellent listening skills; capable of presenting information clearly; able to balance design and sales time requirements.
· Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Leadership/Behaviors: Trustworthy, personable, and authentic; excellent ability to maintain a high-level of focus and quiet demeanor when designing; able to quickly transition and smoothly converse with clients and other leads. Able to adapt to the client’s personality and create a comfortable environment; strong ability to collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members.
