Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, taking patient x-rays, maintaining patient records, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for procedures
- Take and develop patient x-rays
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical history forms
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients
- Perform basic dental laboratory tasks, such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dental software systems such as Dentrix, Epic, or Eaglesoft
- Familiarity with medical coding and insurance billing processes
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and recording patient information accurately
- Understanding of infection control protocols in a dental setting
- Experience working as a dental receptionist is a plus
- Ability to perform patient assessments and provide chairside assistance to the dentist
