Qualifications:
- PERMIT REQUIRED - A Valid Associate-level Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing or a Valid CDA credential with the appropriate age-level endorsement is acceptable.
- Education: Minimum of twelve credits of college-level Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent quarter units in child growth and development, human growth and development, child, family, and community, and program/curriculum;
- At least six months of Early Childhood classroom experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program with children ages 0-5 years old.
- Experience working with diverse populations and low-income families is desirable.
- Ability to read and write English, interpret documents, and communicate effectively. Have basic mathematical skills.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
- Deep understanding and ability to articulate the role equity, inclusion, and diversity plays in our work.
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards is highly desirable, including Lesson Planning, Creative Curriculum, Mighty Minutes, Ages and Stages Questionnaire, DRDP Assessments.
- Pediatric First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certification or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days of employment.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of an employment background/criminal check and live scan fingerprinting clearance.
- Employment physical and proof of immunization record (MMR and TDAP vaccines).
- Proof of absence of tuberculosis.
- Proof of educational degree(s), licenses, permit(s), or credentials pertinent to the position are required.
