Registered Dental Hygienist
Christopher Fauver, DDS is an established general dentist practicing in southern Vermont for 20 years. We are a high-tech, upscale practice in one of the most beautiful towns in Vermont. We have recently moved to a newly renovated state of the art facility with the latest technology. We are looking for fun, hard-working team members to join our work family. You must love dogs! We have 2 golden retriever therapy dogs named Winston and Finleigh who provides comfort and entertainment to patients and staff alike. We can offer you as many hours as you desire - even if you only want to work one day a week.
We have a full time position that needs to be filled beginning early July, due to the departure of a staff member who has been accepted into a higher education program. There is a sign on bonus of up to $10,000 for this position.
We also have a part time position available. We have chairs we would like to fill on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you already work full time somewhere and would like to pick up an extra day with us, please apply. Sign on bonus is $1500 for 1 day, $2000 for 2 days, and $3000 for 3 days worked per week.
Responsibilities
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
- Sterilize dental instruments properly
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
- Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
- Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
- Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
- Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
- Take X-rays or dental impressions
- Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
- Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
- Monitor supplies
Skills
- Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
- Outstanding communication skills
- A patient and friendly personality
- Attention to detail
- Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene
- Valid license to practice in Vermont
