Industrial Construction Site Safety Manager Job Summary:
We are currently seeking to fill an immediate position in either Newport News, VA or Osceola, AR for a Site Safety Manager. Only qualified candidates with at least the requirements below will be considered.
Industrial construction safety experience with a strong emphasis on crane and fall protection (ariel work) safety is required. A positive, innovative, teamwork attitude is also a must.
The Safety Manager will work on a single job site overseeing the crew from Monday through Friday (may change based on weather). The Safety Manager will support the steel side of our business, where we handle a wide range of projects, including heavy industrial facilities projects, manufacturing projects, and more.
Industrial Construction Site Safety Manager Responsibilities:
- Ensure and enforce all job site safety protocols, including but not limited to fall protection for ariel platform work, crane operation safety, and more
- Develop and ensure safe equipment operating techniques
- Plan, lead, and participate in job site safety meetings
- Train employees in various safety procedures according to the construction safety management plan
- Conduct weekly safety inspections on all job sites to ensure safety procedures are in place, including ridging inspection and more
- Review and update monthly, all site-specific safety plans with the project teams
- Follow up with subcontractor representatives to ensure proper disciplinary procedures
- Implement, inspect, and maintain job site and office manuals
- Record and compile data, update logs, monitor equipment, and schedule maintenance
- Update and maintain the company’s contingency and recovery plan
- Perform and oversee the investigation of accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions including interfacing with workers’ compensation claims
- Communicate with injured workers and plan return-to-work strategies
Industrial Construction Site Safety Manager Required Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to legally work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to pass the NNS background checks and have badge eligibility. Cannot have any felonies (ever).
- 10+ years of safety management in industrial construction
- OSHA 500 / 501 or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety
- Strong background in crane and fall protection/ariel work platform safety
- CPR / First Aid Certified
- Experience with hydraulic and lattice boom cranes
- Experience with the use of 100ft to 120ft+ aerial work platforms
- Strong leadership skills
- Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Adobe Graphs, PDF, etc.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore
- Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods of time (3-5 hours+), climb heights of 100-120+ feet/perform ariel platform work, and navigate stair towers and construction sites as needed
Industrial Construction Site Safety Manager Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in steel frame construction
- Steel erector experience
- Background working with self-perform crews
- Certification as a Rigger / Signal Person Train-the-Trainer
- Certification as a Forklift Train-the-Trainer
- Certification as an Aerial Lift Train-the-Trainer
