About the Position
The Human Resources Manager plans and directs the various functions of the Human Resources department such as, recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, payroll processing, disciplinary action, administration of employee pay and benefits, manages liability insurances, and oversees the HR Assistant. The HR manager partners with executive management on strategic planning and serves as a primary point of contact for employees and managers. The HR manager ensures that the company remains compliant with all local, state and federal laws.
Responsibilities
- Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding.
- Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations.
- Enter timecards and process payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
- Maintain employee files and records and keep the ADP HRIS system up to date.
- Manage the employee leave of absence process and coordinate with management and the employee.
- Develop, implement and administer human resources policies and procedures.
- Ensure all HR policies are applied consistently among the staff.
- Update the employee handbook and company COVID-19 policy accordingly.
- Partner with management and the Executive Director to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives.
- Administer employee benefits, COBRA, conduct open enrollment activities and manage the company retirement plan.
- Manage the company liability insurance policies, coordinate with the insurance broker, and provide documents and information for renewals and audits.
- Report and manage worker’s compensations claims.
- Conduct performance and salary reviews.
- Investigate employee questions, complaints, grievances, and disputes and bring them to resolution.
- Administer employee discipline processes and terminations.
- Process final paychecks, conduct exit interviews and offboarding.
- Maintains knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Provide support and guidance to the HR Assistant.
- Handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in human resources management, business administration or equivalent.
- 1+ Year of HR Management.
- 5+ years Generalist human resources experience.
- Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now.
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Must be able to exercise good judgment and critical thinking.
- Advanced Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prepare and present information.
- Must have coaching skills and the ability to be persuasive.
- Strong time management, organization and planning skills.
- Lead projects to completion.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and trust.
This position requires finger printing, a DOJ criminal background clearance, satisfactory reference checks, health screening, and a negative TB test.

Must be able to:
