Retail operations is a key source of funding to support the Habitat for Humanity MCTX mission. Habitat ReStores are home improvement outlets and donation centers that accept and sell new and gently used items to the public at a fraction of the retail price while simultaneously diverting tons of reusable material out of area landfills. Items accepted and sold include building material, furniture, appliances, lighting fixtures, and other home goods. Since inception, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore of Montgomery County sold over $8 million in merchandise. The Restore is a daily resource for funding in working in support of Habitat’s mission to end substandard housing by building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Description
The Deconstruction & Donation Manager is responsible for initiating and growing lasting partnerships with area businesses, manufacturers, contractors, realtors, and builders to acquire donations for the ReStores. The individual in this position is tasked with providing the strong leadership required to manage volunteers and contractors to reach the organization’s Deconstruction and Donation goals. As a leader in the deconstruction industry, Habitat ReStore salvages and recycles usable building materials throughout the community. The Deconstruction & Donation Manager meets with clients, develops proposals, and oversees the execution of these projects in a timely manner to meet our clients’ needs. Regular, professional communication with all stake holders is a must for this fast paced, high-pressure role.
This is a full-time position that works 40 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday.
Job Tasks & Key Responsibilities
· Meet with potential Deconstruction clients to communicate program benefits, set project expectations, and gather relevant information.
· Develop project proposals, budgets, and timelines.
· Regularly update clients on project progress and needs.
· Supervise volunteers and contractors in the completion of Deconstruction projects.
· Conduct project inventories, provide inventory lists to clients and their appraiser of choice, and collect project funding from clients.
· Collaborate with the ReStore Director and support teams to build a strategy for growing the ReStore’s donor pool, deconstruction program, and partnerships with retail businesses.
· Proactively maintain and further develop business relationships through site visits, cold calls, requesting referrals, and continually seeking new avenues to enrich existing and new relationships with donors.
· Work with key partners, ReStore management, and the ReStore support team to identify donor opportunities.
· Work with the management team to develop outreach material and collaborate with the marketing team as needed.
· Maintain donor records including all touch points, new developments, and activity.
· Submit monthly donor and deconstruction reports illustrating key metrics that demonstrate program effectiveness.
· Work with Director of Retail Operations to meet budgeted objectives for the department by managing discretionary spending.
· Build and sustain a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, integrity, mutual respect, and exceptional morale - lead by example.
· Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations.
· Work collaboratively with the ReStore warehouse Supervisor, and Donation Coordinator on donation opportunities, logistics, deliveries, pick-ups and warehousing.
· Promote a cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship between procurement, operations, and all ReStore support teams with the goal of creating a win-win partnership.

· Provide coverage for ReStore’s retail operations as needed.
Requirements/Skills
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience of cultivating strong, cohesive, high functioning partnerships through a donation and deconstruction role.
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in hands-on home construction, remodeling, and/ or deconstruction.
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing staff and/ or subcontractors. Additional experience managing volunteers is a plus.
· Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Local travel required. Experience towing trailers is a plus.
· Must be able to pass a drug test.
· Ability, willingness, and competence in giving and receiving constructive feedback.
· Proven track record of utilizing creative problem-solving skills to overcome complex challenges.
· Demonstrates the ability to self-motivate, work independently, and lead volunteers to achieve quantitative results.
· Demonstrates the ability to perform to high standards in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills; effective communicator with diverse audiences.
· Demonstrates a proven ability to successfully develop and mentor others.
· Commitment to work within the policies and guidelines of Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County TX.
· Ability to learn and communicate an in-depth understanding of Habitat for Humanity and Habitat’s retail operations.
· Passion for Habitat for Humanity MCTX’s mission.
· Knowledge of the retail industry and environmental areas is a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
· This position works in a fast-paced, team-oriented, business casual environment.
· The position requires routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and inventory and donation software.
· The position requires routine use of hand tools and the ability to carry building materials.
· This position is regularly required to work outdoors and in an open, warehouse retail and outdoor deconstruction site environment.
· Must be able to use power tools and manual tools.
· This position requires standing, walking, bending, and occasionally kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
· This position is regularly required to lift, move, and/or load items over 50 pounds with mechanical assistance and/or a team lift.
· All staff, volunteers, and contractors are required to follow all safety protocols from OSHA.
