We are seeking a passionate and creative Culinary Innovation Specialist to join our team. This role will be crucial in developing, testing, and refining delicious and nutritious meals for our students. Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals for food tastings and student sampling sessions.
- Research and develop new recipes that align with our nutritional standards and student preferences.
- Review and enhance existing meals and recipes to ensure they meet our quality and taste standards.
- Organize and execute internal tastings for new ingredients and recipe trials.
- Maintain accurate records of research and development activities, including recipe formulations, procedures, yield data, and production notes.
- Direct and collaborate with staff across multiple departments, including the food production team and suppliers, to ensure effective processes and project objectives are met.
- Ensure the availability of necessary ingredients and raw materials by coordinating with procurement and managing supply orders to minimize waste.
- Create and maintain training documents to support understanding of Meal Assembly Cards and Recipe Cards.
- Provide guidance on meal-related questions from Production Managers.
- Identify, capture, and share best practices throughout the culinary centers.
- Develop recipes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to facilitate the implementation of new products in school accounts and other environments.
- Attend first production runs for all new products to ensure smooth execution and implementation.
- Implement changes to drive continuous improvement, from raw materials to the production process.
- Carry out on-site qualitative and quantitative kid testing on new and existing meals and concepts.
- Serve as a point of knowledge about customers' culinary needs and requirements.
- Provide research and development (R&D) support to achieve the goals of the department and the organization.
- Collaborate with operational personnel to maximize handover and transition efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in culinary arts, nutrition, or food safety.
- Proven experience in culinary arts, food science, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of recipe development, food production processes, and nutritional standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for creating nutritious and appealing meals for students.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000.
