Full Time, 37.5 Hours/Week, Exempt
Position Summary:
The Medical Records Specialist focuses primarily on responding to requests for client records and soliciting client records from outside service providers. Incumbents may also perform administrative duties and support to Center staff as needed. Delivery of all services is trauma-informed, wellness and recovery oriented and person-centered in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values Statement of the Center. Position reports to Senior Medical Records Specialist.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in fulfilling medical record requests.
- Assists in sending out requests for records to other providers, as requested by prescribers and clinicians.
- Assists in processing/mailing/faxing/Release of Information forms/records after review and approval by Clinical Staff.
- Keeps fax machine/printer/scanner/copier supplied with printing materials and distributes and sends materials as indicated
- Assists clinicians or staff members in support staff functions as assigned including phone coverage and work in the EHR
- Cross trained in other support staff functions to cover positions as required by Health Information and Compliance Director.
- Attends and participates collaboratively in all Center departmental meetings and educational in-services. Participates in any classes or trainings offered by the County to enhance performance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- Computer Literacy (MS Office, Excel)
- Possession of a Valid NJ driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with clients and visitors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Medical record experience
- Knowledge of confidentiality and security of medical record regulation/law

Pay: $52,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
