The course, Knowledge and Power: Issues in Women’s Leadership is a foundational 3.0 credit Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies course required of all new students at Douglass Residential College, New Brunswick. This course helps to define the College’s community, explore resources, and build knowledge in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. The course is offered to 25 sections across the fall and spring semesters. Instructors are an important part of the Douglass educational community and will work with a Course Director and participate in collective course planning and inclusive pedagogy workshops. The course is focused on fostering respectful engagement and intentional conversations about race, gender, sexuality, ability, and class among new first-year and transfer students enrolled in Douglass.
The course meets twice a week, 80 minutes per session, during the semester.
