Primary Role: The ReStore Donations Receiver/Processor is responsible for assessment, receipt, and merchandising of donated items to the ReStore while providing excellent customer service.
General Responsibilities: Safety and team work are emphasized while moving product on the Restore property. Responsible for performing minor repairs as needed, cleaning all items for optimum presentation, pricing merchandise at the direction of leadership, and merchandising the sales floor in a logical and attractive manner. Processor Merchandisers must be available to provide excellent customer service and assist customers with carryout of purchases. They must have a good understanding of the mission of Habitat South Sarasota and be compliant to all policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities: The Donations Receiver/Processor must professionally greet donors and inspect donations prior to accepting or declining each donation. Must be aware of the current items that we accept and do not accept. Must assess condition of donations and respectfully communicate whether or not we can accept the donation. Excellent customer service is a high priority. Call manager on duty if item is in question. Safely lift heavy items using the proper equipment. Safety measures include, but are not limited to the use of hand trucks, dollies, back support belts, gloves and the assistance of additional help. Offer tax receipt to donor, assist in filling the form out and thank donor for their support of Habitat for Humanity. Donations Receiver/Processor will perform other tasks as necessary when not receiving donations.
Skills and Personal Characteristics: Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate and execute multiple work activities. Attention to detail and overall quality control. Strong interpersonal skills and dealing well with a variety of personalities is critical. Excellent written and verbal communication and public relations skills. Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and standing for long periods at a time. Must be able to spend extended periods of time working outdoors
Education and Experience: High school diploma and customer service experience is preferred. Background check required.
Performance Indicators: Initiative and independent action demonstrated in handling tasks assigned. Strong communication and customer service with customers. Demonstrated knowledge of operations, policies and procedures. Track record of putting safety first.
Reports to: Restore Director
Employment Status: Full Time or Part Time Hourly including Saturdays.
Salary: Starting hourly rate is $16 per hour.
