We are currently seeking an individual for the Plant Manager position at our Reostone Quarry located near Nashville, Tennessee. This position will report directly to the Area Production Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Manage a limestone open pit & underground mining operation with approximately 34 hourly employees and four salaried direct reports.
- Efficient management of all mine/quarry employees. production, equipment maintenance, etc. of a 1,000,000 + TPY.
- Overseeing proper implementation of all safety procedures.
- Ensure the pit and mine activities are achieved to plan specifications.
- Control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings.
- Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement.
- Effectively manage staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and development through training.
- Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations.
- Direct mine and pit planning per company expectations.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with area QC department.
- Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geological engineering or similar is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations and or engineering as well as significant experience in aggregate processing procedures and underground/surface mining.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in personnel supervisory role.
- Working knowledge of AggQC and AggFlow is a plus.
- Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and an understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop leadership at the lead person and foreman levels.
- Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating and implementing best operating practices, including quality, maintenance, production and safety excellence.
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to rapidly learn different software applications.
- Possess strong basic math knowledge.
- Basic surveying and mapping skills are required.
- Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA safety standards.
- Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices.
