Summary
The Material Handler supports Operations in the movement of material and supplies. The Material Handler receives and issues parts/components to/from the manufacturing floor, properly identifies material, is accountable for its accuracy in stock locations and ensures the availability of production material for the assigned programs. The Material Handler inventories material from Receiving or the manufacturing floor before it goes back to stock.
Essential Functions
Level I & II
Performs all functions of the Material Handler role within in the company guidelines of safety
Maintains a level of quality that is acceptable at all levels of the organization
Participates in the adherence of productivity levels for the multiple areas of manufacturing that they support
Unloading of inbound shipments and loading outbound shipments
Pull parts from stock to build orders assigned to the manufacturing floor
Receives/Pop Backfills finished product by transacting the appropriate manufacturing orders
Fill and account for material requisitions submitted by the manufacturing floor
Placing hardware/beams into stock from receiving/production floor
Ensures the correct balances are maintained by the performance of Cycle Counts
Ensures proper forklift charging policies are being followed and operator logs are completed daily
Removes trash and recycling from the building
Supports the Mission of the organization and adheres to all company policies
Performs other duties as directed
LEVEL III & IV
Preforms all essential functions and competencies listed for Level I & Level II
Monitor appropriate reports to ensure Priority material is delivered to the correct location in a timely manner
Ensure the correct balances are maintained by the performance of Cycle Counts and complete a thorough investigation of any discrepancies found while Cycle Counting
Research and identify material related issues using all available inquiries within the computerized system
Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism when representing the company
Provide basic assistance and direction to less experienced employees as requested by management
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Level I & II
Effective organization and prioritization skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Previous use of RF scanners preferred
Possesses basic computer skills
Previous inventory and forklift experience required
Must be self-driven to complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervision
Attention to detail
May pull and package parts for sales orders and send to shipping
Strong emphasis on safety, quality and productivity
Restock shelves with incoming material from various sources and locates material in the computerized system

LEVEL III & IV
Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and problem solving skills are essential
Proven ability to complete projects in a timely manner
Previous warehouse management experience required
Proven experience researching and identifying material related issues using the ERP system
Ability to mentor less seasoned Material Handlers
Cycle Counting experience is required
