General Job Summary: Responsible for providing professional nursing care for
patients including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation by following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.

o Patient care responsibilities as assigned, which may include scheduling and organizing patient flow, accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, and transfer to exam table if needed
o Assess patient’s general condition and collect patient history
o Document health history, activities, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record
o Provide basic patient care as ordered by physician and assist physician with various procedures
o Provides patient education materials, communicates physician advice/instructions to patient
o Cast and splint application and removal
o Accompanies patients to the DME department to be fitted for braces, etc. as ordered by the physician
o Wound dressing changes
o Prepare injections
o Suture and staple removal
o Sterile tray set-ups
o Obtain lab/x-ray reports
o Schedule surgery, hospital procedures and pre- and post-op appointments
o Schedule MRI, CT scans, labs, etc.
o Schedule referrals to other physicians
o Clean and stock exam rooms
o Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies
o Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA
Qualifications:
1. Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
2. Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, hospitals, other physician offices, and general public

7. Must have a flexible work schedule with the ability to work late some days and work through the lunch break on busy clinic days
Requirements:
1. Completion of LPN program
2. AR Licensed Practical Nurse- must be current and in good standing with the AR Nursing Board
3. Current CPR certification
Experience:
Clinic setting experience preferred but not required.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
1. Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching
2. Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
3. Occasional stress from workload
4. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including phone, copy machine, computer, fax and medical equipment including stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, and cast saw equipment.
