JOB DESCRIPTION
Functions under the supervision and direction of the Director of Nursing and Registered Nurse to assist in providing patient care, within scope of practice. Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, within the objectives, standards, and policies of the hospital and within the parameters of his or her preparation. Cooperates with the members of the nursing and medical staffs and other hospital departments. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and a graduate of a technical nursing program.
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year of LPN experience. Prefer experience in Psychiatric Nursing.
- Licensure: Currently licensed in the State of Ohio as a Licensed Practical Nurse. CPR and CPI certification within 180 days of hire.
- Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills necessary in order to instruct and comfort patients and their families. Maintain effective contacts with a variety of Hospital Personnel. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on assigned unit/department.
