If you’re looking for a flexible job in a creative environment you’re in the right place. LA-based acting coach and entrepreneur Sarah Gaboury from Real Actor’s Lab is hiring. Please make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this description to not miss important information you must include in your application in order to be considered.
As the Creative Executive / Administrative Assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely (but remotely) with Sarah to help create an extraordinary experience for actors. Your duties will be broad and range from managing inbound interest and current student requests to calendar management/mastery, regular student and community engagement, tracking and following up on new student leads, drafting broadcast emails inside Drip (our CRM), coordinating with partners for cross-promotions, retrieving funds from credit card declines and onboarding new students into classes. There is a lot of room for growth after vital new systems get put into place to begin tackling other exciting projects and tasks. Sarah loves ideas to help streamline or make things run more smoothly.
Our mission (in actor-speak) is to empower actors to live the story (instead of kill it!). Actors learn how to implement tools to land bigger jobs and make an impact through their work.
This job is for you if:
- You can take an idea and turn it into a seven step checklist
- You’re naturally organized, are a total systems-nerd and work well independently
- You’re tech savvy, like to write, and don’t mind working big stretches on the computer
- You’re a fantastic communicator, not afraid of occasional phone calls
- You have a great work ethic, but don’t take yourself too seriously
- You love helping people
- Keeping a schedule makes you happy. You're able to see potential issues on a calendar in advance and problem solve to fix it.
- You're resourceful and can figure out stuff you haven’t yet learned.
- You have excellent attention to detail, meaning you: are thorough, catch typos, can manage a busy inbox without dropping the ball and keep track of lots of little things happening at once.
- You tend to have a glass-half-full kind of view of the world
- You get a thrill out of closing loops
- Like following and creating Standard Operating Procedures.
This job is NOT for you if:
- You occasionally go on total communication blackouts.
- All you’re looking for is an ‘interim’ job. This company is growing and we want you to grow with it.
- Slightly scattered, creative people stress you out.
- Constructive feedback tends to make you feel defensive.
- Creating systems is a challenge.
- You don’t have a reliable/strong internet connection.
- You’re not a people person and don’t have compassion for the life stuff that often comes up for actors.
- You’re not a team player. We all pitch-in when necessary.
- You tend to get pulled in a million directions instead of staying on task.
- You disagree that everyone, no matter their cultural background, ethnicity, ability, age, faith, gender, gender expression, gender identity, ideology, income, national origin, race or sexual orientation deserves to feel feel safe, valued, and respected.
We value creative problem solving, extraordinary attention to detail, efficiency, clear and compassionate customer service, resourcefulness, and initiative (Sarah loves it when you think of stuff before she does).
