Position Summary
The Youth Program Assistants will work alongside National Parks of New York Harbor (NPNH) staff who will be supporting high school age youth participants in NPNH’s summer program. Interns will work alongside participants in work, service, and recreational experiences and NPS sites. Youth engagement will take place at multiple National Parks of New York Harbor sites, Morristown National Historical Park, Weir Farm National Historical Site, Kathadin Woods and Waters National Monument as well as other area NPS sites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assist NPS leads in basic project planning;
Assisting NPS leads in assigning work task to youth student participants;
Maintaining safe work environment for summer youth programing;
Support scheduling and communication between summer youth participants and NPS leads;
Document summer youth activities to be complied in final report
Marginal Duties
Model technical skills for summer youth;
Schedule recreational experiences and team bonding activities for summer youth participants;
Assist with field projects as needed;
Support summer youth participants in preparing for final presentation;

40 per week
Living Accommodations
This is a commuting program. Members will return home after service work concludes each day.
Compensation
$20.00 per hour
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
