Contra Costa Health Department is recruiting individuals on a continuous basis to fill current Physical Therapist I and Physical Therapist II positions. Therapists may be assigned to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and its Health Centers or the California Children Services Programs located throughout Contra Costa County.
Physical Therapist I is an entry-level classification requiring no experience. Incumbents in this classification perform a full range of general therapy treatments while developing and learning the skills and knowledge necessary to apply more advanced and/or specialized treatments.
Physical Therapist II is a journey-level classification. Incumbents perform a full range of general therapy treatments while developing and learning the skills and knowledge necessary to apply more advanced and/or specialized treatments.
Minimum Qualifications
PHYSICAL THERAPIST I:
License Required: Either 1) Possession and maintenance of a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California, or 2) Graduation from an approved school of physical therapy and acceptance of an application to take the State of California Physical Therapy Licensing Examination. Continued employment under the latter requirement is dependent upon successfully passing the licensing examination that has been applied for.
Certification: Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association or a CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross.
PHYSICAL THERAPIST II:
License Required: Possession and maintenance of a valid license as a Physical Therapist issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
Experience: Two years of full-time experience or its equivalent as a Physical Therapist.
Certification: Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association or a CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross.
Desirable Qualifications: Candidates who have outpatient experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
