The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a qualified Medical Technologist to provide medical research laboratory support to our government customer out of Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform hands-on unassisted sample collection of small volume collections, whole blood units, and components, to include:
packed red blood cells
pooled platelets
apheresis platelets
plasma or granulocytes via the Terumo Trima Accel blood collection system as needed for research support.
Actively advertise blood donor program via verbal, electronic, and written communication per USAISR and Command policy.
DESIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
Certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology preferred
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in phlebotomy
Experience with various hematology and chemistry systems
Experience working with whole blood and component collections using an apheresis unit
An understanding of HIPAA and securing donor information
CITIZENSHIP/SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a US citizen.
Must obtain a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
