SUMMARY:
Ensures that proper package size and filling of products is in accordance with customer’s specification by following product playbook. Works directly with QA and Supervision personnel to ensure proper code, weight and temperature requirements are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures the proper package integrity according to established requirements: date codes, pouch size, temperatures, weights, etc. Maintains accurate and consistent pouch seals and performs tests necessary to ensure quality of the seals.

Maintain accurate and consistent weight control of pouches with the in-line weight checkers.

Monitors screen for adequate processing temperatures, kettle levels and weight control.

Ensures cleanliness and process sanitation in the filling area. Understands the same requirements for the batching, scale-up and bin prep areas.

Completes required documentation for filling, sanitation and PMs.

Maintains and understands information in order to improve processes.

Documents and maintains all film inventories.

Operate and adjust all filling equipment to necessary specification (ie, fillers, video jets, weight checkers and metal detectors).

Contributes to the preventative maintenance of the filling equipment (ie, fillers, video jets, weight checks, conveyor system and metal detection).

Understands the operating parameters of the PLC for all production lines and CIP processes. Understands when operations must be performed on the PLC and must be able to accurately perform those operations on the PLC when it is deemed necessary.

Contributes to the communications at shift changeovers and understands the information.

Adheres to and understands Safety programs.

Understands and uses current Good Manufacturing Practices to perform work.

Understands and uses the Standard Operating Procedures for the area..

Train and mentor new employees, as required.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/GED and/or two years related work experience.

Previous working experience with Cryovac filling machines preferred.

Prior maintenance or technical experience in the food industry preferred.

Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift certification.

Knowledge of raw materials, production process.

Knowledge of arithmetic and their applications.

Knowledge of computers and electronics.
