Job Description:
Sales Associate: This role collaborates with the sales manager to develop and oversee sales-related activities within the Food Service, Retail Market, and Wholesale Industry. It requires a unique talent capable of managing existing business while also generating new business development opportunities. Additionally, the position entails responsibility for market growth and innovation, targeting customers/markets where products can reduce costs or provide market advantages. The role involves traveling to secure and maintain accounts and overseeing the complete spectrum of sales and marketing activities for specific product lines within the region.
Key Skills:
Developing new markets by increasing sales of existing products or developing new products within the company’s capabilities. Assisting the Manager in analyzing sales data, developing and managing sales forecasts, pipelines, and funnels. Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of markets, opportunities, competition, sales obstacles, and effectively communicating this information to relevant company personnel. Collaborating with the purchasing department to ensure mutual understanding of customer needs. Resolving customer issues, recommending appropriate products for testing, and outlining requirements for development projects. Attending (as needed) and representing the company at trade functions, expos, seminars, and customer events. Becoming well-versed in product/services, as well as competitors’ offerings, to aid or guide new product development. Staying informed about and sharing insights on industry trends, developments, regulatory changes, customer and market-related compliance, and customer innovation that present opportunities for the Food Service or Retail market.
Education/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Food Service technical experience preferred. Familiarity with the Food Service industry, Retail industry, networks, and customers. Minimum 5 years of experience in a Food Industry sales position. Knowledgeable about business management principles involved in strategic planning, pricing, and marketing strategy and tactics. Proficiency in Power Point (or other graphic design tools such as Photoshop) and computer skills. Excellent communication skills.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday; weekends and holidays as needed. Travel Requirement:
