Job Overview:
We are seeking another skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team. Our practice is looking for someone who strives for excellence, looks for ways to help their co-workers, and puts serving their patient's best interests as their number one priority.
Our practice provides a wide array of services, including restorative care, fixed and removable prosthetics, implant placement, bone grafting procedures, platelet-rich plasma collection, CT scans, full mouth reconstruction, esthetic reconstruction, endodontic procedures, and more. We see children and adults; and place a heavy focus on making each visit as comfortable and as pleasant as possible for all of our patients. In 2018 we moved into a newly constructed office building where we try to keep a bright and pleasant atmosphere.

Duties:
- Greet patients warmly, listen closely to their concerns and address them, and ensure they feel well taken care of.
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, debridement, and noting areas of concern for the doctor.
- Expose digital radiographs (including panoramic
- Apply sealants and topical fluoride treatments
- Collaborate with the doctor and discuss recommended periodontal treatment with the patient
- Administer topical or local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as directed by the dentist
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
- Update and maintain accurate patient records using electronic dental record systems, including periodontal charting, hard tissue charting, and updating treatment plans
- Follow strict infection control protocols and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional patient care
- Replace retentive features (o-rings, locator inserts, etc) of implant-supported prosthesis
- Occasionally assist the doctor as needed during hygiene visits if simple treatments/adjustments are needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Dental Hygiene license in Michigan
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- In-depth knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and dental hygiene techniques
- Proficiency in dental documentation and electronic dental record systems
- Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and interpretation
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Familiarity with taking vital signs
