We are seeking a detail-oriented cost accountant to join our team as an assistant finance leader. This role leads a team of two responsible for: accurate reporting of costs, analyzing and correcting variances, and accurate reporting of inventory. Additionally, this position works alongside the plant finance leader assisting in preparation of estimates and budgets, while using KPIs to drive results. This position offers opportunities for advancement.
**Duties:** - Work cross functionally to identify and reduce variances - Analyze costs of raw materials and other supplies to provide recommendations for cost-saving measures - Assist in weekly preparation of weekly profit estimates - Work with team to perform accurate and efficient closings - Conduct general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data - Complete balance sheet reconciliation to identify discrepancies - Utilize accounting software to manage financial transactions - Understand debits and credits to maintain accurate financial records - Apply technical accounting skills to interpret and communicate financial information to different levels of the organization - Assist in annual budget preparation.
**Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance - Proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting - Excellent communication skills - Proficient in Excel and accounting software - Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles - Understanding of technical accounting standards - Ability to apply financial concepts effectively - Process minded with exceptional ability to problem solve.
