At Northside Melanoma & Sarcoma Specialists of Georgia (MSOG), we offer superior expertise and a full spectrum of services for the management of melanoma, skin cancer and bone and soft tissue sarcomas.
We are part of the Melanoma & Skin Cancer Program and Bone & Soft Tissue Tumor Program at Northside Hospital Cancer Institute (NHCI), one of the largest and most respected providers of comprehensive cancer care in the country. Being a part of these leading community cancer programs allows you, the patient, to benefit from the combined expertise of our network of cancer specialists and gain access to groundbreaking melanoma and sarcoma clinical trials.
Patient care is delivered through an integrated, multidisciplinary approach. For you, this means all of your cancer specialists work together to provide the most comprehensive and individually tailored treatment plan. Our surgical oncologists, Dr. Scott Davidson and Dr. Nicole Kounalakis work with a specialized team, which includes experts in radiology, pathology, reconstructive surgery, and medical and radiation oncology, to develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
Responsibilities:
Performs scheduling function in a high volume Physician Practice. Acts as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians' offices. Requires specific knowledge of all clinical service lines for the operating rooms at all Northside surgical locations or any affiliated Outpatient Surgery Center. Additional skills required include typing, experience using computerized documentation systems, strong customer service and problem solving.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Nursing or related field OR Five (5) years previous medical related clerical experience.

Demonstrates high level proficiency in the following software packages or equivalent:

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Highly developed interpersonal, facilitation, verbal communication, and written communication skills.

Must possess problem solving skills

Must possess excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to plan time effectively, balance multiple tasks, and execute projects to completion.

Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology

Ability to type 40 words per minute
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Nursing or related field
- Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment.

Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized scheduling system

Experience interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third party payers.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals in all levels of responsibility.

Ability to work independently.
